ARIZONA, Rebel Brides with a Free Spirit

The Western has always been an inspiring genre for fashion, and this 2022 season is brimming with it. All the major fashion houses are embracing this ever-recurring style. In this new take, it moves away from romantic Prairie House dresses and toward more adventurous and wild looks, thus embodying the true spirit of the American Wild West.

At Ana Faustino Atelier, we’ve embraced international trends and participated in a very unique and different editorial. To achieve this, we moved from our boutique in Barcelona’s Eixample district to a riding stable in the middle of a rural setting (an unusual setting for a wedding dress shoot).

Marusia, the stylist, managed to create a setting reminiscent of that distant, undiscovered territory, down to the last detail. To achieve this, she combined rustic furniture with materials from the stables themselves. The filter in the image, used by Natalia in the photographs, gave the entire session that golden, earthy tone.

We wanted to create a bridal style that doesn’t conform to the traditional rules for bridal looks. We broke away from the classic and conventional to move toward sexier and more daring designs. The designs feature bold lines, fitted to the body or flowing, allowing for freedom of movement.

The dresses are made with “rebordé” lace, a fabric composed of a thick thread that outlines shapes, in this case geometric. This technique creates a very distinctive and striking look. The necklines are exaggerated and complemented by wide, flowing sleeves, achieving a distinctive style. The skirts, with exaggerated flare thanks to the wide godets, allow for free and fluid movement.

The two-piece top and skirt set is the perfect combination for this bride who wants something different and more natural. The buttoned cropped top with puffed sleeves and a V-neckline gives a fresh, yet feminine and sexy effect. The top pairs perfectly with the slit silk crepe skirt.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in this very special session. Above all, we would like to highlight the dedication of the entire staff at the Fundació la Granja equestrian center and their beautiful horses, who, as expected, were the stars of this small recreation of the American Wild West.
