PASSION – Love and Desire
Passion: a story that takes us through rhythmic and loose impulses that awaken memories. Intense impulses that create dense textures, delicately shifting and without pauses. It’s the Tango of someone who loves and wants to lose themselves in love.
Ana Faustino’s new collection, inspired by the music of Rodrigo Leão, explores a poetic journey of sincere love that touches us, awakens us, inspires us, and consumes us from within. The 2023 Passion Collection returns with a bohemian and romantic touch, a story inspired by the sentiment of the song “Pasión” by Portuguese musician and composer Rodrigo Leão, alongside the voice of singer and poet Lula Pena, exuding a contemporary poetic sensibility, bare and unadorned in its captivating simplicity. With notes of tango, a passionate dance between passion, love, and desire, with an undertone of melancholy.
“Listening to a tango makes you become a receptor of emotions,” says Ana Faustino about a collection she describes as relaxed and freer. “At the same time, I’ve allowed myself to be transported by the poetry composed by Lula Pena and her delicate choice of precise words that reach the soul,” explains Ana. The pieces are named after the song’s lyrics:
All the lace: “I love you with tears” and the plain skirt: “Embrace me tonight.” Passion is a call, a warning, of the importance of living your wedding to the fullest.
The Pasión woman is passionate and seeks unique moments and strong emotions. A woman who loves passionately and sincerely, without fear of losing herself. Immersed in a tango and letting herself be carried away by her impulses, she opens the way to a dance of seduction. Pasión is inspired by a determined bride who chooses what she wants without trying to be perfect.
Passion is expressed through beautiful, highly defined lace and a delicate tulle texture embroidered with cotton thread. The dresses embrace geometric shapes and organic elements that merge into a print with a strong presence and character. No less striking are the flared skirts, carefully crafted from recycled georgette. “Because we care about the environment and the recycling of materials,” explains Ana Faustino.
Loose, flowing dresses inspired by the movement of dance and the breeze blowing through fabric. Paired with beautiful, exaggerated, wide sleeves and an open back with exquisite embroidery that outlines the skin.
A surprise factor is its V-necklines that enhance the body’s contours, creating a sexy silhouette with a provocative attitude.
Our goal for the collection was to ensure that each dress ticks all the boxes when it comes to being simple, comfortable, and exciting.
The photoshoot, created in collaboration with The Camera Obscura, took place in the frozen wilderness of Iceland, a silent, almost hypnotic landscape defined by distant mountains, towering cliffs, and captivating rock formations.
